Client Project: Restored Family Dining Table and Chairs

When a client approached Bloom. to help her restore her family's dining table and chairs we could not have been more excited. This set was absolutely gorgeous. The unique wood grain and color was in great shape, save for some damage to the table top, and the chairs were a beautiful style and simply needed new fabric. The set has been in the client's family for a few generations and she wished to maintain the original style while giving just the table top a complete refinish and reupholstering all six chairs. We recommended a stain match for the table top, and a generous application of hemp oil to the table apron, legs and chairs. Hemp oil is a great way to moisturize and brighten tired, old wood.

Let's take a look at the Befores:

As you can see, the chair fabric was dated and tired and the table top was in poor shape due to years of use. The client chose a pretty, floral fabric design for the chairs which paired perfectly with the wood stain. For the table top, we were able to get a custom stain match using one of the table leaves that was still in good condition. After stripping the table top, we applied the stain as well as a coat of hemp oil, and then a final coat of poly for added protection. The apron, table legs and chairs were also rubbed down with a coat of hemp oil for a refresh in color and shine.

Our client was so happy with the results and even called to say that her mom absolutely loved the look and has never seen the table look so pretty! We hope you enjoyed reading about this project as much as we enjoyed working on it!
