Client Project: Dining Table in Grey Whitewash

Hello dear readers!  This project was an incredibly fun and fantastical journey for me and I am so excited to share it with you today!  My client wanted a fresh, new look for her grandparent's gorgeous, round pedestal dining table.  Here are some before shots:

The table top was a bit roughed up from many years of use and the screws holding the table to the base were stripped and needed replacing.  My client also requested that the ancient casters be removed and replaced with risers.  In terms of paint color and style, my client wanted a very specific look for her piece. We started a Pinterest board and were able to find the perfect inspiration picture for the table:

My client loved the soft, grey whitewashed look.  Her kitchen has recently been renovated and her colors are grey and white.  We both agreed this style would fit perfectly into the space.

The look was achieved using a custom blend of Maison Blanche chalk paint in Confederate Grey and a white acrylic by Paint Couture.  To complete the whitewashed look, I applied a layer of clear wax over the paint and then a final, top layer of white wax, both by Miss Mustard Seed.

The table leg risers were special ordered from an out of state supplier and painted white to add contrast, which tied in nicely with the white and grey kitchen theme.

The client was kind enough to let me shoot the finished piece in her home and I am so proud to share the results with you here today!
